The free space between the guide and sealing arms is filled with an insert (17) of elastomer. It extends to the surface (20) of the floor ring (12) facing the closure, this closing the guide surface (22) to the charge chamber. The insert is also guided as far as the closure side end of the floor ring around the sealing arm (16). Thus, by closure of the closure wedge, the charge chamber at its closure side end is immediately closed. ADVANTAGE - The ring obturator guarantees a good seal of the wedge closure even with continuous firing.
