PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and to improve reliability by forming a detector that detects the reference position of movement of a magnetic converter from an electric circuit substrate fixed in a body in keeping the relation of continuity. CONSTITUTION:A detector 6, a photosensor having an incorporated pair of light emitting element and light receiving element in an arm part 6a is fixed in a body to a circuit forming substrate 7 that drives the device by electric conductive terminals 6b of the projecting light emitting element and light receiving element by, for instance, soldering, etc. in keeping continuity with the substrate. The reference position detecting function of the magnetic converter 1 of the detector 6 is attained by detecting the change of electric signals of the light receiving element caused by intercepting light from the light emitting element received by the light receiving element after passing through a pair of slits 6 provided in the arm part 6a by the arm part 2c of a carriage 2 at slit position in a specified position of movement of the carriage.
