PURPOSE:To obtain a tile having a strength equal to or higher than that of asbestos-contg. tiles and to solve the problem of environmental hygiene caused by asbestos, by blending a vinyl chloride resin with heavy calcium carbonate having a surface treated with a reaction product of a resin acid with petroleum resin. CONSTITUTION:This polyvinyl chloride resin tile has a vinyl chloride resin content of not higher than 22wt% and contains no asbestos as a filler. The tile contains 2-20wt% heavy calcium carbonate having a surface treated with a reaction product of a resin acid with petroleum resin. The product is one obtained by reacting the resin acid with petroleum resin in a weight ratio of 100/1-1/100 and has a softening point of pref. 50-200 deg.C. The product is used in an amount of 0.1-10wt% based on the at of calcium carbonate.
