PURPOSE:To improve S/N and the color picture quality of a reproduced picture by selecting the gap width of a magnetic head so as to satisfy specified relations relative to the recording wavelength of a low frequency conversion carrier chrominance signals and the recording wavelength of a luminance signal to be frequency-modulated.
