Adhesive thermoplastic materials (I) based on copolymers of unsatd. monomers and chelating agents are claimed; (I) contain (A) 90-99.99 (95-99.9) wt.% copolymer(s) of (a) 20-95 (40-80) wt.% 1-12C alkyl alpha,beta-unsatd. amide(s) of (II), (c) 0.1-15 (0.2-10) wt.% acids (II) and (d) 0-50 (0-40, pref. 0.1-30) wt.% other comonomer(s), (B) 0.01-10 (0.1-5) wt.% crosslinker(s), i.e. Gp. 2, 3 or 4 metal cpd. of a 1-6C alkyl acetoacetate or of a 2-6C dihydric alcohol and (C) extenders and other normal additives (A + B = 100 wt.%); the novelty is that (I) also contain (D) a crosslinking regulator. (I) are produced by melting (A) in a mixer, pref. at 90-130 deg.C., dissolving (D) in the melt, adding (B) (and opt. C), homogenising the mixt., keeping the mixt. in a thermoplastic state by constant stirring, pref. at up to 120 deg.C., and using the prod. in its thermoplastic state as required.
