Programmable hearing aid with fuzzy logic controller

摘要

The microphone (2) converts sounds into electric signals for amplification and transmission (4) to the earpiece (3). Sets of parameters of the hearing aid for different acoustic surroundings are stored in a memory (5). The fuzzy logic (6) operates on inputs (7) characterising the environment and produces control signals (8) for continuous variation of the transmission behaviour of the aid. The inputs are rectified, averaged and differentiated prior to fuzzification, inference and defuzzification performed in accordance with configuration information retrieved e.g. from electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM).
