The mortice-and-tenon joints (15) between boards (16,17) are secured by rhythmic operation of a press (3) within a pressure region (18), to which boards are advanced and retained by feeder stations (9,10). At a following threading station (2) electrical signals are output from switches (26,29) actuated by a rear edge of a board, and linked to counters (31-34) set according to distance from the pressure region. A length-measuring device (37) also sends a proportional signal to the feeder-station control unit (35). ADVANTAGE - Prodn. capacity is increased by better extension of ready-pressed extrusions positioned without special programming.
