A colour-photographic silver-halide material having improved photo-stability is obtained by adding a vinyl alcohol homopolymer or copolymer to the material in a layer arranged closer to the light source than the layer containing the coupler from which the dye to be protected is formed by colour development, and a coating of a vinyl alcohol homopolymer or copolymer is applied directly to the support of the material on the side facing the coupler-containing layer.
