The seal assembly has a grooved part (2) which includes a fixed section (21) with an attachment system to the rim (1) of the vehicle chassis. A moving section (22) acts as a seal and encloses the top edge of the sliding window (3). The fixed and moving sections both engage with a longitudinal external armature (4) made of an elastically-deformable rigid material that is pre-formed to a specific shape. The shape of the armature allows the moving section to pivot between open and closed positions. In the open position it moves laterally towards the exterior with respect to the surface of the window.
