PURPOSE: To provide a cooking appliance with high thermal conductivity and high adhesion strength of a heating plate to a main body by carrying out resistance welding of a closely joining member to a heating plate of a magnetic material and further carrying out soldering and then fixing by casting the joining member together with the main body of a non magnetic material. ;CONSTITUTION: A closely joining member 5 made of a steel, e.g. gold steel, is set in a lower electrode 4 of resistance welding electrodes, a heating plate 1 of a magnetic material is fixed between an upper electrode 7 and the lower electrode 4 of the resistance welding electrodes through the closely joining member 5, and then the closely joining member 5 and the heating plate 1 are melted and joined each other by resistance welding. While the closely joining member 5 of the heating plate 1 being set in the front, the resulting body is fixed in dies and a electromagnetic induction heating cooking appliance 3 is cast by casting the heating plate 1, which is made of a magnetic material and welded with the closely joining member 5, together with a main body 2 made of a non magnetic material by aluminum die cast. Since the main body 2 is made of aluminum, the appliance 3 is made light in weight and since the heating plate 1 made of a magnetic material is used as the bottom face, heat transmission can be carried out efficiently and heat radiation is also carried out efficiently.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
