TIMING CONTROLLER FOR PARTICLE ACCELERATOR AND TIMING CONTROL THEREOF

PURPOSE: To enable a particule accelerator to radiate an ion beam with an optimum timing synchronizing with breathing, by outputting a delay pulse with a delay time to realize optimization of actuation timing of the pulse power source generated based on a pulse generated in a phase of breathing vibration. ;CONSTITUTION: A trigger generator 102 outputs a trigger at a suitable phase of a greathing wave shape. This phase is determined according to the time required for accelerating a beam and the time point of the breathing wave shape. Considering the rise time, etc., of each pulse power sources 100 and 21, the trigger endows a suitable time delay by adding each delay circuits 104 and 12a, and send to each pulse power source 104 and 12a as a delay pulse. Thereby, an ion beam is drawn out as an ion source beam from an ion source 100, accelerated by a linear accelerator, injected into a synchrotron and accelerated to required energy, then radiated as an outgoing beam toward a body to be irradiated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
