METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT TISSUE CULTURE OF PANAX GINSENG C. A. MEYER

PURPOSE: To stably produce ginsenoside saponin of a secondary metabolite in a large amount by culturing callus of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer under specific conditions. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for carrying out tissue culture is to culture callus of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer in a liquid medium containing at least one of auxin, gibberellin and kinetin under germ-free conditions. Thereby, proliferation of callus is promoted and saponin content is also improved. In the method, producing amount of saponin is increased by carrying out primary culture of callus in a liquid medium containing auxin and then carrying out secondary culture of the cultured callus in a liquid medium containing gibberellin.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
