PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method for mass-producing an adventitious root of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer grown under completely natural conditions and Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer wildly grown in mountains by tissue culture and a method for improving the saponin content.;SOLUTION: This method for mass propagation of the adventitious root comprises a stage of culturing a tissue such as a root, a stem or a leaf of the Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer and cultivated Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, the Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer grown under completely natural conditions, the Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer wildly grown in mountains, etc., and inducing a callus, a stage of generating the adventitious root from the induced callus and propagating the adventitious root and a stage of mass culturing the propagated adventitious root in a bioreactor. The adventitious root with especially an increased saponin content and the ratio of a diol saponin to a triol saponin regulated to the same level as that of the natural Panax ginseng C.A.
