HYPOTHESIS COMPARATOR AND HYPOTHESIS COMPARISON PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE: To obtain the priority under prior knowledge between conflicting hypotheses by providing a calculated evaluation value based on the knowledge provided in advance for conflicting hypotheses and using the order of placing priority to a hypothesis with a larger value. ;CONSTITUTION: A logic equation representing conflicting hypotheses is given to a hypothesis storage section 1, a proof configuration section 3 forms a proof whose conclusion comes from the hypothesis by using knowledge stored in a knowledge storage section 2 and it is stored in a proof storage section 4. A proof evaluation section 5 calculates an evaluation according to the method of calculating the proof evaluation. A proof evaluation storage section 6 stores a proof evaluation value and a tentative evaluation section 7 calculates the evaluation value. Furthermore, an anti-proof evaluation storage section 8 stores the hypothesis evaluation value and a hypothesis comparison section 9 discriminates the priority between hypotheses according to the quantity relation of the evaluation values of the hypotheses and provided an output of the result.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
