PURPOSE:To effectively detect the holding number of coins in a coin tube even when the coin is replenished by correcting an counting value of a counter by utilizing a coin detecting device for detecting whether the coins of a prescribed number of pieces have been contained in the coin tube by a switch. CONSTITUTION:A coin detecting device 5 detects by a switch 20 whether or not a prescribed number of coins have been contained in a coin tube 4 and outputs a signal 12 for showing whether the coin exists or not, and a controller 8 reads this signal at a prescribed timing. When a counting value of a counter 7 is less than a prescribed number of pieces in spit of a fact that the coin detecting device 5 is showing that the coin exists, the controller 8 decides that the coin has been replenished and sets a numerical value of this prescribed number of pieces to the counter 7 and corrects it. In such a way, even when the inside of the coin tube 4 is in a state that the coin exists, its holding number of coins can be detected effectively.
