PURPOSE: To provide a stainless steel welding material which is excellent in the selective corrosion resistance and used to manufacture a weld joint having the excellent cold workability by limiting the content of Cr and Si in the range of content of the stainless steel where the content of Cr and Si is increased to the prescribed value as specified by the specific inequalities. ;CONSTITUTION: The stainless steel welding material has the composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.03% C, 1.7-2.5% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 14-31% Ni, 25 to 30% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and the contents of Cr, Si, Ni and C satisfy the inequalities, i.e., -7≤3.2×Cr(%)+5.0×Si(%)-2.7×Ni(%)-55×C(%)-31.917. By limiting the content range of stainless steel where Cr and Si contents are increased, the stainless steel welding material for the nitric acid production plant is obtained where the excellent selective corrosion resistance is obtained even in the environment of the boiling nitric acid of any concentration below 90%, and the joint excellent in the cold workability such as bending is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
