PURPOSE: To join a column and a beam, which can bear a large load, by a method wherein an edge plate is extended outwardly from both side edges of a square base plate at a predetermined angle and from upper and lower edges thereof horizontally, respectively, and a side plate body wherein a rib is vertically provided at the central portion thereof is provided so that an end plate body of a steel tube column and the side plate body are connected. ;CONSTITUTION: An end plate body 3 is fixed on the upper end edge of a square steel tube column 2 on the side of a lower floor and an end plate body 3a is fixed to the lower end of a steel tube column 2a on the side of an upper floor. Next, an edge plate 9, which is bent from each of the opposite side edges of a square base plate 8 at an angle of 45°, is provided, and bolt holes 10 are formed through the plate 9. And edge plates 11 are provided at the upper and lower ends of the base plate 8 so as to extend horizontally outwardly, and bolt holes are formed. Further, a rib 12 is vertically provided in the central portion of the plate 8 to form side plate bodies 4a-4d. The edge plates 9 on opposite sides are aligned with the adjacent edge plates 9 of the side plate body and tightened by means of bolts 16 to form a rectangular body. And beams 5a, 5b, 5c are joined together. And the side plate bodies 4a-4d are used when they are extremely closely assembled.
