PURPOSE: To surely release the automatic feed for a drilling machine. ;CONSTITUTION: When automatic feed is carried out in the loosened state between a handle boss 24 and a stopper ring 34 due to the forgetting of tightening or the tightening shortage of a clamp knob 36 for fixing the handle boss 24 and the stopper ring 34, a stopper pin 37 installed in a recessed groove 24a of the handle boss 24 collides with a clamp bush 35, before the lower limit position of a quill, and the stopper ring 34 follows the handle boss 24. A slide boss 31 is shifted in the axial direction by a pin 32, and the meshing between a hook clutch 27 and a hook clutch 28 is released.
