DECISION SYSTEM OF FALSE IMAGE CAUSED BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION

PURPOSE:To realize an economical false image decision system in which erroneous decision is suppressed by deciding a real image or a false image based on the matching between the time data of a reflection wave from an object and the time data obtained from a radar. CONSTITUTION:A radar transmitter/receiver 12 in an ocean supervisory radar 10 transmits a pulse radio wave at a predetermined repetition frequency from an antenna 11. A receiver 20 receives a direct wave through an antenna 21 and a radar receiver 22 and delivers a detection signal to a time measuring unit 23. Every time when the pulse radio wave is transmitted, the time measuring unit 23 counts the time elapsed after reception of the direct wave before receiving a reflection wave from the object. A data processor 24 stores the time average value of counts from the measuring unit 23 in a data memory 25. A false image decision section 134 compares the time data of each object received from the receiver 20 with the radio wave propagation distance of each image detected by the radar transmitter/receiver 12 and expressed in terms of time data and then decides a real image or a false image based on the match/mismatch thereof.
