The present invention relates to a porous glass carrier for immobilizing microorganisms and a method for producing the same, and more particularly, to a porous glass carrier in which continuous pores capable of immobilizing microorganisms are formed on the inside and outside of the porous glass carrier and the absorption rate of the carrier is increased.;Since the conventional porous glass carrier has a large number of closed pores, the microorganisms can not permeate into the interior of the carrier and are immobilized only on the surface of the carrier, so that the water absorption rate is very low and the immobilization characteristics of the microorganisms are very poor.;Accordingly, the present invention provides a porous glass carrier in which the hot water treatment, the heat treatment in various stages, and the hot water elution treatment are progressively performed in the pores of the inner and outer portions of the carrier.;In addition, the porous glass carrier produced by the present invention is used for immobilizing microorganisms.
