Gritting machine for spreading grit on highway surfaces

The gritter has an oscillating transverse spreading beam distributing and carrying grit to be deposited at a discharge edge on to the highway surface. For at least part of its length the upper surface of the spreading beam has a wave-like profile (8c). The profile of the spreading beam guides the particles towards the discharge edge where they fall almost vertically onto the road surface. The profiled board transmits the vibrations into the grit particles.
