The package or insulating cushion is mfd. from natural stalk (3-6), such as straw, hay, or reed and a strong, tear-resistant hose, cushion, or bag material. The original length of the stalk material is bent into a meander shape so that the individual stalks consist of connected sections. The sections are sepd. by the bend points (7-9), which are used for interconnecting the stalks to form a relatively solid layer.
