The sealed bearing is arranged to provide the rotation of a shaft (12), which is used to drive a windscreen wiper. The bearing is of the type, which consists of a bored hole (14), formed in a support piece (16). The shaft is carried by at least two bushes (20,22) and has the end section of the shaft (28) projecting axially from the hole and is fitted with a protection collar (48). The collar is formed to provide a primary cylindrical skirt (50), which surrounds the outer surface (29) of the end section of the shaft, and a second cylindrical skirt (54), of larger diameter, and which fits around the end section (56) of the support piece. Sealing is provided by the seal (62), which fits between the primary skirt and the outer surface of the end section of the shaft.
