The vehicle seat has a secondary seat (8), for use by a child and to be used in a position where the child has its back to the direction of travel. It is fitted with a foot rest (9), formed by a foldable panel (10), formed from articulated panels (101-103), carried by the seat back (6). The articulated panels are carried by an upper transverse axis (12) and a lower transverse axis (11), both fitted to the seat back and around which the upper (101) and lower (103) panels of the foot rest rotate.
