PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toxicity measuring device for an aqueous specimen, which can yield measuring results free of significant error without requiring hand manipulation substantially. SOLUTION: An aqueous specimen toxicity measuring device concerned is composed of a specimen sump 9 to accommodate a specimen to be tested, a specimen sump 17, diluting agent sump 15, mixing chamber 13, sensor cell 19, pump 23, and valve means 21, 22. The mixing chamber 13 leads to the atmosphere via an air inlet pipe 31 and valve 32, and the specimen, reagent, and diluting agent are supplied through valves 12, 16, and 14, and a mixture thereof is fed to the sensor cell 19 where the measurement of aqueous specimen is conducted. The mixture is drawn to the sensor cell 19 by the pump 23 through the valve means, or the air in the upper part 13a of the chamber is drawn by the pump 23 through the valve means 21, 22, thereby inhaling the air from the suction pipe 31 so that the mixture therein is bubbled to ensure mixing. An aux. mixing chamber 13' is supplied with the diluting agent and reagent solely, and by reference to the acquired data, the color and turbidity of the specimen and an error due to natural variation in bio-luminescence are corrected.
