METHOD FOR COATING SLAG ONTO INNER WALL OF CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for economically applying a prescribed quantity of slag coating to a prescribed position of furnace wall surface of a converter by a simple operational method. ;SOLUTION: At the time of coating the molten slag 2 remaining in the furnace on the surface 5 of the inner wall of the converter after tapping molten metal by tilting the converter in the converter refining, the furnace body 1 is held upright and a pipe 3 for gas blowing is inserted into the furnace from the upper part. The molten slag 2 is blown off toward the surface 5 of the inner wall of the converter by blowing gas from the tip opening hole while the tip opening part of the pipe is dipped into the molten slag 2 to stick the molten slag onto the surface 5 of the inner wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
