PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically apply powder parting agent onto a cavity and to shorten the cycle time of casting without deteriorating the quality of a cast product. ;SOLUTION: The pressure in the cavity C is reduced through a powder sucking passage 19 opened in the cavity C. The powdery parting agent in a powder storage source T is supplied into the cavity C through a powder discharging passage 17, opening 10C and molten metal supplying way 11. A die casting apparatus is provided with a powder control valve guide hole G communicated with a sleeve 8 and having the opening 10C holed to be communicated with the molten metal supplying way 11, a power control valve V arranged in the powder control valve guide hole G and communicating/shutting off the opening 10C, sleeve 8 and powder discharging passage 17 and the powder sucking passage 19 for reducing the pressure in the cavity C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
