METHOD FOR MEASURING IMPEDANCE OF CABLE TERMINATING END SECTION

PURPOSE: To find the impedance of an EBG with higher accuracy while the EBG is connected to a power cable. ;CONSTITUTION: While a simulation pulse generator is connected between the conductor of a power cable and an insulating pipe 3 and a simulation pulse is injected into the conductor, the first voltage generated across first electrodes 12a attached to the cable on both sides of the pipe 3 is detected by means of a signal detector 12. Then, while another simulation pulse of the same magnitude as that of the first-mentioned simulation pulse is injected into the pipe 3 from the generator 11 through second electrodes (not shown in the figure) attached to the cable on both sides of the pipe 3, the second voltage generated across the second electrodes 12a is detected by means of the detector 12.
