PURPOSE:To stably obtain desirable copy images without deterioration at the time of repeated uses by providing a photoreceptive layer containing a specified polysilane compound on a conductive supporting body, and incorporating a specified ultraviolet absorber in the surface layer containing the specified polysilane compound in an electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is provided on a conductive supporting body with a photoreceptive layer containing the polysilane having a weight average molecular weight of 600 - 200,000 and represented by formula I, and this surface layer containing this polysilane compound contains the ultraviolet absorber having a maximum absorption in the range of 280 - 360nm. In formula I, R1 is methyl or ethyl; R2 is 3 - 8 C alkyl or the like; each of R3 and R4 is 1 - 4 C alkyl, thus permitting desirable copy images to be stably without any deterioration at the time of repeated uses.
