Cation compositions containing lampblack which can be used to prevent the formation of static charges in leathers and tanned products By taking advantage of the fact that tanning processes include a stage in which one or various layers of products are deposited on the leather by spraying in order to improve its appearance, this invention considers the use of a composition comprising a mixture of cationic resins and lampblack, which is applied before or intermediately with the improving layer or layers or as a substitute for any of them. The cationic resins used will be cationic acrylic resins and/or cationic polyurethanes in a proportion of 1 to 15 parts, lampblack 0.1 to 20 parts and water up to 100 parts. A cationic surfactant such as an oxyethylenated quaternary amine is added to the composition to encourage dispersion of the lampblack.
