New compounds which are aromatic dibenzofuran derivatives, and pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions containing them

Dibenzofuran derivs. of formula (I), their optical and geometric isomers and salts are new. Ar = a gp. of formula (II)-(VI); M = CR5R6, -C(O)-CH=CH-, -C(O)-C IDENTICAL C-, -C(=Y)-W-CH2-, -CR5R6-CH2-W-, R5R6C, -CH=CH-C(O)-, -C IDENTICAL C-C(O)-, -CH2-W-C(=Y)-, or -W-CH2-CR5R6-; provided that when M = CR5R6, then Ar is not gp. (VI); R1 = H, methyl, -(CH2)m-O-R8, -C(O)-R9, -OR8, or -S(O)tR9; (ii) R2 = H or -OR8; R3 = H or lower alkyl; R4 = as R1 provided that at least one of R1 or R4 = H; R5, R6 = H, lower alkyl, or -(X)n-(CH2)p-R7; or R5+R6 = oxo, =S, oxime, or R11-O-N=, epoxy, cyclopropyl, cycloalkyl (opt. substd. by halo or lower alkyl) or -O-(CH2)q-O-; q = 2 or 3; R7 = H or -(CO)r-R10; R8 = H, lower alkyl or lower acyl; R9 = H, -NR'R'' or -OR11; R10 = H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, -NR'R'', or -OR11; R11 = H, 1-20C alkyl, mono- or poly-hydroxyalkyl, aryl or aralkyl (both opt. substd.), or an amino acid, peptide or sugar residue; R', R'' = H, lower alkyl, mono- or poly-hydroxyalkyl, aryl or aralkyl (both opt. substd.), or an amino acid, peptide or sugar residue; or R'+R'' = heterocycle; W = O, S or -NR12; R12 = H or methyl; X, Y = O or S; m, p = 0-10; provided that when R7 = -(CO)r-R10 and R10 = -OR11, then p cannot be 0; t = 0-2.
