The present invention relates to a method for preparing ranitidine hydrochloride, and more particularly, by strongly blocking the histamine H 2 -receptor to reduce the amount of gastric acid released, thereby lowering the acidity of the stomach to treat gastric ulcer and peptic ulcer and to prevent gastric ulcer during surgery. Or a method of producing a high yield of type 2 ranitidine hydrochloride by reacting ranitidine, which is useful for treating allergic and inflammatory diseases in which histamine is known as a mediator, with hydrogen chloride in the presence of an amine to crystallize into ranitidine hydrochloride.
