Bird-proof foam cladding, esp. for roof restoration

A building cladding, esp. for roof restoration, consists of a rigid foam layer applied onto the building and a protective lacquer forming the visible side of the foam layer. Fine particles (14), pref. quartz sand, slate chippings or fine gravel of 0.2-1.2 mm. particle size are introduced into the protective lacquer pref. so as to form a granular layer completely covering the foam layer surface (10). Also claimed are: (i) a method of producing the above cladding, involving spraying the lacquer and the particles onto the hardened foam layer; and (ii) an appts. for carrying out the above method. The method involves: (a) applying a layer of hardenable foam material onto the prepared building surface; and (b) spraying the protective lacquer layer, together with the fine particles, onto the hardened foam layer. The appts. comprises a spraying device and a mixing device which can be mounted on the spraying device and which is connectable to a particle feed device for blasting particles into the spray jet of the spraying device.
