RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR POWER CABLE REINFORCING INSULATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for reinforcing and insulating rubber or plastic power cables such as CV cables, and having low hardness, low modulus and excellent viscoelastic properties. ;SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. EPDM (ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer) having an ethylene content of 60% or below with 25-50 pts.wt. process oil having a content of a paraffinic component of 60% or below and a content of an aromatic component of 25% or below when measured by the ring analysis described in ASTMD3238 and having a kinematic viscosity of 200cSt or above when measured by the method defined by JISK2283. It is also possible to add 50-120 pts.wt. calcined kaolin and 70-140 pts.wt. conductive carbon black to 100 pts.wt. EPDM.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
