AUTOMATIC BILINGUAL WORD AND PHRASE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need to retrieve characters on a one-character retrieval basis by a user by displaying owned words and phrases matching the vocabulary level of the user according character data automatically after the user inputs the character data. SOLUTION: Data is inputted to a microprocessor 103 by utilizing a keyboard 106 and the microprocessor 103 processes the inputted character source 102 as a word or phrase, a document, or part of it to be retrieved, combines correlative data in a bilingual dictionary data bank 105, and displays words and phrases which are not lower than the user vocabulary level in the character source 102 on a display 107. They are so displayed that the user can see and understand data of the meaning, usage, attribute, etc., of words. Consequently, the user need not retrieve characters on the one-character retrieval basis.
