PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide picture compiling device and method therefor that can easily, speedily and rely select a picture, which is highly frequently used by an operator. ;SOLUTION: Picture data inputted from a picture input part is stored in a picture data storage part 6. Whether picture data is previously registered in a registration list provided for a used picture storage part 7 or not, is discriminated. When it has been registered, the registration list is updated. When it has not been registered yet, picture data is added to the registration list. The number of picture data which can be registered in the registration list can arbitrarily set. A picture magnification conversion part generates and displays the reduced picture of registered picture data. The operator can speedily, easily and rely select/take out the desired picture by selecting the displayed and reduced picture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
