PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove water, condense a higher hydrocarbon and take out the condensed hydrocarbon by dividing a gas containing methane, water and the higher hydrocarbon into two parts and carrying out a special treatment. ;SOLUTION: A gas containing methane, water and a higher hydrocarbon is divided into two parts circulating through lines 51 and 52. A first gas part passing through the line 52 is cooled with a heat exchanger E51 and the condensed water and a liquid hydrocarbon phase are separated by settling in a drum B51. The liquid hydrocarbon part is passed through a line 57 and reinjected into the upstream side of a heat exchanger E52. The aqueous phase is passed through a line 58 and discharged. A second part of the gas circulating through the line 51 is fed to the bottom of a contact zone G50 to take out a solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
