PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a fault simulation processing for detecting and calculating fault rate. ;SOLUTION: This fault simulator is provided with a fault temporary node selecting part 3 which inputs circuit connection information 1 of an integrated circuit, and selects a fault temporary node, fault temporary node dividing part 5 which divides the plural selected fault temporary nodes into plural partial circuits, fault simulation executing part 13 which operates the simulation of a test pattern prepared by a fault simulator input pattern data preparing part 9 for the nodes selected by the fault temporary node selecting part 3, and whole circuit fault detection rate calculating part 15 which calculates the fault detection rate of the whole circuit from the fault detection rate of the partial circuit calculated by the fault simulation executing part 13.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
