PURPOSE:To prevent bared surface soil from being eroded due to wind and rain by protecting the face of slope with a fiber web shaped body which is flexible and of a low density random web, where the fibers of water repellent fibrous members are mutually entangled while cavities are being held. CONSTITUTION:A mesh fiber web 1 as thick as 5 to 40mm is prepared, which is made of polyester fibers and the like and is also made up out of low density random webs low in hydropholic property and also low in water absorbing property where the fibers are mutually entangled while sufficient cavities are being formed so that thick volumes are thereby kept therein. In the second place, the aforesaid web is laid on a soil surface 2 as a surface soil protection sheet so as to be integrated with soil, so that saturated soil moisture and the like are extracted so as to be removed away. By this constitution, soil in the face of slope is prevented from being eroded, culture medium composition for replanting, seeds and the like 4 are concurrently protected, and vegetation efficiency can thereby be enhanced because sufficient moisture can be supplied.
