PURPOSE:To perform a stable ink delivery and form a favorable image by a method wherein a delivery port is shaped into a symmetrical 2n-polygon (n=3 or more). CONSTITUTION:At the time of forming a delivery port, an excimer laser light 102 is radiated to an orifice plate 110 from the side of an ink flow path groove 25 through a mask 104 having a pattern of a 2n-polygon (n=3 or more), e.g. a hexagon. The excimer laser light 2 is condensed at theta = 2 degrees with respect to an optical axis 113 at one side and radiated so that the optical axis 13 is inclined through theta2=5 degrees from the vertical direction to the orifice plate 110. The mask in use is formed by providing hexagonal patterns 26 having a D2h symmetry by the same number of orifices on a plane parallel plate of synthetic silica deposited with aluminum.
