The circuit has a microprocessor (43) with a cache memory which exchanges data with an external memory. An integrated circuit (42) operates the interface between the microprocessor (43) and its external memory. The integrated circuit comprises a stack with the dimensions required to contain a block of data from the external memory and which also enables the block to be seen as one or more blocks of cache memory. The integrated circuit also comprises a register for the microprocessor memory which contains external memory addresses. Data from the external memory is copied to or from the cache memory using the address in the register.
