The voltage generator (1) is controlled by a signal (PBM) which contains at least an active part and an inactive part. The active part includes a variable number of pulses (N) which determine the voltage. The voltage generator includes a switch (2) controlled by the signal (PBM), and a capacitor (5) which is charged to a prescribed level at the terminals of a winding (3) when the switch is open and is discharged into a resistance (6) when the switch is closed.
