FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: catalyst containing alkali metal on solid inorganic carrier is treated with bottom product of rectification product from the stage of 1- hexene isolation in the process of dimerization and codimerization of lower olefins in presence of catalyst containing alkali metal on solid inorganic carrier. Treatment is conducted at bottom product feeding velocity 0.5-1.0 $$$ and temperature 50 to 100 C for 8 to 16 h, after which catalyst is blown through with hydrogen. Blowing is preferably conducted for 3-5 h at 50-400 C and pressure from 0.35 to 3.5 MPa. EFFECT: increased service cycle, stable operation lifetime, and average productivity. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
