FIELD: transport engineering; multipurpose vehicles for use both on railway and on road. SUBSTANCE: traction platform has railway trucks carrying platform for loading the tractor where transmission is connected to drive shaft for conveying rotary motion from tractor power unit, through drive shaft and transmission, to driving axle of railway truck. Tractor is used for transportation along railway or highway of one or more multipurpose trailers after reequipment of the latter. When reequipping the trailer for use on railway, it is installed close to truck installed at place storage outside railway and is butt-joined with truck and is placed on rails by maneuvering the trailer with truck by means of tractor. When preparing the trailer for running along highway, tractor is coupled with trailer and is used to maneuver the trailer to displace it, together with truck, from rails to road.
