New method for cleaning contact lenses

A method for cleaning contact lenses, comprises: (a) suspending the lenses in a solution that is cavitated for 6-10 minutes by an ultrasonic field of 20 - 30 khz and 1.5-3 w/cm2; (b) leaving the solution to settle out, for 3 - 5 minutes; (c) disinfecting the lenses by heating the solution at 90 deg C for 15-20 minutes, and (d) cooling down the solution at room temperature. Also claimed is an apparatus for carrying out the above method.
