The torsional oscillation damper is fitted in the drive line of a vehicle with an IC engine. It has an input part, output part and a torsional spring arrangement (F). Parallel to this first torsional spring arrangement (F) is a second torsional spring arrangement (f) which has a sprung characteristic line with negative course at least near the partial torsion angle. The second torsional spring arrangement (f) has a range of action restricted by stops (7, 8, 9). USE/ADVANTAGE - A very flat sprung characteristic line is produced which uncouples the IC engine and drive mechanism to prevent the transmission of vibrations.
