The apparatus consists of a prefilter or nitrate cartridge (1) through which the water is fed at a pressure of at least 2.5 bars, followed by a UV treatment lamp (3) to disinfect it and an active carbon purification filter (2). The UV lamp is contained in a quartz sleeve (4) to prevent the water from being heated by the lamp. The apparatus is powered b a 12V supply, which is sufficient to feed its electronic circuit (6) comprising a mini-ballast which delivers to voltages to the terminals of the lamp, programmable microprocessor and an electronic clock which measures the operating time of the lamp and filters, sounding an alarm when they are exhausted.
