PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject promoter and food/drink containing the promoter, having calcium absorption promoting effect and hard to develop diarrheal disease even if taken. SOLUTION: This calcium absorption promoter contains, as active ingredient, -glucooligosaccharide(s) which is pref. at least one kind selected from cellobiose, sophcrose, laminaribiose, gentiobiose and -D-gentiooligosyl-D-glucose. The other objective calcium-replenishing food/drink is obtained by incorporating a food/drink with pref. 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the above -glucooligosaccharide(s) and pref. 0.005-2.5 pts.wt. of a calcium stock.
