PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity for a work and reduce a production cost through the formation of a side glass of a fluorescent display tube by bending glass and jointing its both ends to simplify a glass cutting process. ;SOLUTION: A side glass 28 is integrally formed. That is, a piece of glass with a designated length is cut out with the size of a product considered, and after heating its specific parts -3 points - by a torch in accordance with a shape of a fluorescent display tube, it is bent, fellowed by thermal treating, After that, mounting frit is injected into the inner surface of the side glass 28 and both ends are adhered each other and fixed. Frit for sealing is then applied around the surface of the side glass 28, and is hardened, while eliminating unnecessary ingredients.
