Disclosed are a novel class of colloidal antimonypentoxide powders having improved dispersibility in polarsolvents; and novel processes for preparing same, whichprocesses include the initial step of preparing a newintermediate consisting of an antimony pentoxide/phosphoricacid sol containing at least 35% by weight of antimonypentoxide based upon the total weight of the sol.
